The obvious number one attraction in West Molesey and a must see for families is Hampton Court Palace. Kids are well catered for with history themes, interactive displays and fun activities. What’s more,the gardens are are absolutely great for toddlers and children of all ages to run around in. They’re also the perfect place for a picnic on a hot summer’s day.
Kids can get lost in the historic gardens and the famous hedge maze, which is reportedly one of the oldest in the UK. The Magic Garden is also an awesome play area. Our daughter loved it!
2. Hurst Park
Nestled on the Thames, this park is great for wandering, feeding ducks or swans and enjoying the green space. It’s a wide open space perfect for games of football, throwing frisbees, flying kites or walking the family dog. Hurst Park is also a venue for a calendar full of fantastic events throughout the year, including Molesey Carnival and the Regatta.
Full of deer and wide open spaces and walks, Bushy Park is the second largest of London's Royal Parks after Richmond Park. It’s a great place to see and enjoy the changes of the seasons, as well as for wildlife spotting – look carefully and you might even see one or more members of its historic herds of resident deer.
Bushy Park is just a short drive away from West Molesey, and boasts numerous playgrounds and a cafe.
Who doesn’t love a wave machine and a soft play! Located in Horsham around an hour’s drive from West Molesey, this leisure centre and swimming pool is ideal for rainy days.
Kempton Steam Museum is the perfect place to see the engines of days gone by. Experience working steam engines and how they work, and make sure to watch out for their Steam-On weekends.
A short drive to Weybridge with many family-friendly activities and hands on Around a 20 minute drive from West Molesey to Esher, the Elmbridge Museum offers many family-friendly activities and hands on experiences for all ages. And with a collection of over 40,000 objects to explore, it’s bound to be a fascinating day out.
7. Thames Ditton Miniature Steam Railway
We’ve saved perhaps one of the best until last. Operated by the Malden and District Society of Model Engineers, the Thames Ditton Miniature Steam Railway is just a 15 minute drive away from the centre of West Molesey. It offers a super fun day out for everyone, and the kids will absolutely love taking rides on the miniature railway.
